Antelope Lower Canyon, Page, Arizona.

From viralnova.com:

Reddit user remizik recently went on an adventure that made me foam at the mouth with jealousy. He decided to go inside Antelope Lower Canyon, which is located in Page, Arizona. He had been to Page from France once before, but he was unable to go inside. So now, returning in 2013, he was determined to do it.

What he discovered is beautiful, natural awesomeness.

Powerful Photography – Seb Janiak.

Through Imaginary Foundation I discovered an artist, Seb Janiak, who has made some spectacular photographs. Here are two examples:

1.

THE_KINGDOM_STELLAR-LIGHTS

2.

THE_KINGDOM_BARDO_THODOL

From his biography:

In a photographic career spanning 25 years, Seb Janiak has explored a remarkably diverse range of areas. A survey of his work would form a virtually complete picture of all the options offered by the photographic medium, such is its scope. In keeping with the lively tradition at the heart of photography, technological innovations open up the possibility of new types of image. However, only a handful of people can successfully forge an artistic idiom and blaze a trail in the uncharted territory unveiled by the new tools available to them.

Fewer still can also provide innovative solutions to the issues raised by previous generations, but Seb Janiak features among their ranks. From his matte paintings with their revolutionary new techniques and unique perspectives in the mid-1980s, to his latest photographs of laser beams passing through prisms, attempting to capture light in its original purity without the use of artificial means (mirroring the endeavors of the founding fathers of photography in the first half of the 19th century), Janiak has successfully preserved a sense of cohesion while covering the full range of possibilities offered by photography.

This cohesion is all the more remarkable considering the major break with the past in photography over the last thirty years represented by the advent of digital technology. Rejecting the straitjacket of specific schools or eras, but exploiting instead the complex nature of the world around him, Seb Janiak uses – and reveals in his photographs – the vibrant power of opposites.

Creepy image from A Deadly Alkaline Lake in Africa that Turns Animals into Calcified Statues.

From This Is Colossal:

Lake Natron in northern Tanzania is one of the harshest environments on Earth. Temperatures in the lake can rise to 140 °F (60 °C) and the alkalinity is between pH 9 and pH 10.5, almost as alkaline as ammonia. Animals who enter the water are almost certainly doomed, save certain kinds of fish that have evolved to survive in such a caustic environment.

Hawaii, Volcanic Waves!

article-2198591-14D87A2E000005DC-258_964x641

From MailOnline:

Daredevil photographers brave boiling waters to capture the drama of searing-hot lava crashing into the seas off Hawaii.

Two photographers risked their lives to become the first people to capture the explosive moment fiery lava crashes into the sea.

Nick Selway, 28, and CJ Kale, 35, braved baking hot 110F waters to capture these images, as they floated just feet from scalding heat and floating lava bombs.

The pair, who chase the lava as it flows from Kilauea through Kalapana, Hawaii, spend their days camped on the edge of active volcanoes to capture the incredible images.

Beauty Everywhere!

Mister Peter Scharpach of the site http://reepken.wordpress.com/ brought these wonders to my attention:

Exquisite photography by Diane Paquin Photographe:

Along one of Diane’s pictures were these words, which I thought a wonderful poem, but are actually the lyrics to a song(Youtube link) by LOREENA McKENNIT:

The Mystic’s Dream…

A clouded dream on an earthly night
Hangs upon the crescent moon
A voiceless song in an ageless light
Sings at the coming dawn
Birds in flight are calling there
Where the heart moves the stones
It’s there that my heart is longing for
All for the love of you

A painting hangs on an ivy wall
Nestled in the emerald moss
The eyes declare a truce of trust
And then it draws me far away
Where deep in the desert twilight
Sand melts in pools of the sky
When darkness lays her crimson cloak
Your lamps will call, call me home.

And so it’s there my homage’s due
Clutched by the still of the night
And now I feel, feel you move
Every breath is full
So it’s there my homage’s due
Clutched by the still of the night
Even the distance feels so near
All for the love of you.

A clouded dream on an earthly night
Hangs upon the crescent moon
A voiceless song in an ageless light
Sings at the coming dawn
Birds in flight are calling there
Where the heart moves the stones
It’s there that my heart is longing for
All for the love of you.

Honey Bees In The Himalayas.

from MielHimelaya.pps via Vera

An Apis Laboriosa, the largest social bee in the world, gathers pollen on a rhododendron flower.

A gathering bee approaches a tree in bloom. The Apis Laboriosa is the main pollinnatot for the mountain flora. She has been spotted at an altitude of 4100 meters.

The Apis Laboriosa, the giant bee of the Himalayas, builds its nests on rocky outcrops of mountain sides, in proximity of a stream of water. The rates can grow to a diameter of one meter fifty.

Intuition…

“Trust your intuition
It’s just like going fishing
You cast your line
And hope you get a bite
But you don’t need to waste your time
Worrying about the market place
Try to help the human race
Struggling to survive its harshest night

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you”
