  1. My previous Labrador was a rescue one. She came to live with me when she was 18 months and finally departed this world, aged 17. I know a man who rescues maltreated dogs from all around the world. Recently, he brought one back from a Vietmanese market, where it was going to be sold for meat. It had whip marks all down its sides. The man has done wonders with this dog, which, suprisingly, is the sweetest of temperaments, despite what it has been through.
