~My Sunrise Incantation~

Birdsong and a fine black cat

Here I sit where I’m at

The trees are lit with glowing gold

Waiting stories that must be told

Coffee and cream held in my hand

Before me sunshine, mountains and land

Let me consider over this day

What tunes to hum~

What words to say?

Let me gather the glow

Let me study and know

Give me busy hands

That nourish and heal

Keep me young in spirit,

Allow me to feel~

Call For Anonymous to Help Avaaz!

Dear friends,

Right now, the Avaaz website is under massive attack. An expert is telling us that an attack this large is likely coming from a government or large corporation, with massive, simultaneous and sophisticated assaults from across the world to take down our site.

We were expecting this. Our people-powered campaigning has been fearless, and we’ve taken on the world’s worst actors head-on, in ways that genuinely hurt them – from the Syrian and Chinese regimes to Rupert Murdoch, Big Oil and organized crime. The Syrian dictatorship called our campaigner ‘the most dangerous man in the world’, and a UK inquiry recently revealed emails between Murdoch’s news corporation and top levels of government saying the Avaaz campaign against Murdoch was their biggest concern. Sometimes I lie awake at night wondering when these people are going to come after us.

And it’s begun. We have urgent campaigns on oceans, forests and Syria we need to run, but the attack has been going on for 36 hours straight, threatening our ability to keep campaigning. Because of top-notch security, our site is still up, but it’s not enough. We need to show these actors that when they attack Avaaz, they’re messing with people. And people-power can’t be intimidated or silenced, it only grows stronger.

You can write them at www.avaaz.org/en/contact!

This author appeals to the hacker organisation Anonymous to help them!!!

The Missing Link: Neuroscience and Indigenous Wisdom.

The Promise of Indigenous Wisdom

Indigenous wisdom is not mere folk psychology, although intuition, self-reflection (especially in relation to experiences with both the visible and invisible worlds), metacognition, and observation of human nature have certainly contributed to it. Indigenous wisdom is the product of careful and methodologically sound observations of the natural world (which includes humans) that have been tested and retested for thousands of years in the rigorous real-life laboratories of survival and well-being. The results include inventions and contributions that relate to food development, storage, and preparation; herbal-based medicines; clothing and transportation; astronomy; sustainable practices; and more. Indigenous wisdom has also influenced concepts of democratic governance and approaches to child discipline, equitable wealth distribution, positive interpersonal relationships, and conflict resolution that reunites communities.

So, rather than ignore, reject, or relegate Indigenous wisdom to merely new age diversions, coupling it with the prestigious neurosciences might start a revolution in how we study the brain and lead to the reorganizing of our own neurons in time to save ourselves from extinction.

Golf and a Funeral – Joke

From natedrake on Experience Project:

A man and a friend are playing golf one day at their local golf course.
One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the course.
He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer.

His friend says: “Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man.”

The man then replies: “Yeah, well we were married 35 years.”

Hahah! Special Notification From The Archangel Gabriel!

Would you believe it, there I was, right in the middle of concocting another one of my brilliant Tittbits, when the archangel Gabriel had the audacity, the unmitigating nerve to disturb yours truly for some piddling notification! Now I know Gabby, whom I visit on occasion, when I’m in one of my loftier moods, but I have given him fair warning time and again not to disturb me when I’m writing.

This time he came with some utter poppycock about the imminent end of the world. I uttered a dry: „And…“ He answered: „What do mean: and… Are you not in and of this world? Does this not concern you?“ I retorted: „Well, maybe in an oblique sort of way, but that is neither here nor there. You know very well that I shall continue to write my Tittbits for the amusement of my legions of fans, whether they be earthbound or in spirit form. How dare you interrupt a serious author in the midst of his comical endeavours? (Or maybe vice versa?) Now go and annoy somebody else and leave me to my duties!“ He answered: „Alright, Mister Smarty Pants, but don’t say I didn’t warn you!“ and he left in a huff and a puff.

I forthwith re-Christened him Gabby with the Big Gob! And I was not kidding, ladies and gentlemen, when I told Gabby with the Big Gob that I would continue to amuse you with my zany stories even until after the end of time. What are trifling matters such as Armageddon or Apocalypse to a writer, who is in the very serious business of perpetrating comedy, hey? I assure you that I can go on waffling till…

BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!! (= very loud noise)

T (he End)+ a bit -> Ralphie in spirit form: „Oy, I suppose you thought that was funny, hey!!??“

You see, dear readers, Ralphie always has to have the last word and not even the End of the World can stop him from having that!

Ralphie shows up at the Pearly Gates and says to Gabriel: „Right, Mister Celestial Comedian, which way do I go?“ He points at an extremely long queue and says: „Over there!“ I ask: „What are they?“ He answers: „That is the queue for formerly starving freelance writers!“

Even in Heaven we have to wait for our dues! Now I ask you? Maybe he did get the last word in after all. I wonder if they have internet up here. And.. what about my royalties?
