World Trade Union!

Fact or fiction: Governments can not cut it anymore, when it comes to keeping multinational concerns in check. When these monoliths do not receive what they demand in one country, they first threaten to take their business elsewhere and if their demands are not met, then they proceed to do exactly that. They take their Dollars or Euros or whatever to a trade zone where the tax benefits are most in their favour. They furthermore take jobs away from people in so-called developed countries, who stand up for their hard-earned rights and just employ people in poorer countries, who are willing and eager even to work for less.

I challenge anyone to tell me that I am talking bullshit here!!? Everybody knows it, but everyone thinks that there is no earthly way of forcing any kind of control on these paradigms of world economy. Or is there?

The world these days has become a small village, where no-one can hide anymore, because I and you and you are watching and getting more and more frustrated every single day. I propose in first instance that the trade unions of every nation start banding together and forget their regional differences. Let them start to think globally, in order to finally be able to make a change in this unjust state of affairs.Let us say that there are more or less three big streams of unions, namely the conservative, the liberal and the socialist ones. Reach out your hands across your borders and start working together across all continents!

Or are have you become too much a part of the establishment and do you not give a damn anymore about the ideals, for which you are supposed to stand? Is it really merely a case of everyone for himself and about cutting up the cake between yourselves? When are you going to stop shaming your forebears and take the fight to the might? Are you afraid to get your white collars dirty in the process? The time for rhetoric and publicity campaigns has passed! It is time to take action, and not tomorrow or next week, but NOW! I for one am sick to my guts of having to stomach this global farce much longer. Wake up and smell the shit that the Big Guys are handing you on their silver platters and say: No more! We’ve heard it all a million times before and nothing ever changes. We’ll just have to make the changes ourselves(that is you the trade unions)

And if you gentlemen don’t want to get off your lazy behinds and do it, then there is a second way… In such a scenario, I would call upon all the members of all trade unions everywhere to stop paying their dues to you and to start from zero, but this time on a global scale, irrespective of colour or creed. I wonder if anyone reading this will sit up and take notice??? Over to you, the public! Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for us to stand up and be reckoned with. Let us SPEAK with ONE VOICE, together as brothers and sisters and form a counterweight against the might of the Big Boys! Are you up for it?

Yes, I am talking to you, me little Ralphie! I propose we take up the fight. You can shake your head wearily and go Tsk, tsk! and hide behind your feeling of impotence. You can also think of a myriad reasons to keep quiet and justify your silence. Or you can speak out and spread the news. If a pebble rolls down a slope covered in snow, it can become a juggernaut that forces everything out of its way. The choice is yours! Somebody had to get the ball rolling… And yes, Ralphie has a dream.

  1. Bang on Ralphie – the saddest thing to my mind is the way the media set the poor against the poor to distract them from what is really going on. I would love the trade unions to band together – It is long past time that the workers who’s efforts we benefit from got properly rewarded. But what a hullaballoo there will be when we have to pay the real price for our lifestyle!

  2. Everyone knows that you are right and it’s only a matter of time till we small people start a war against the mighty.
